Mattinata is an Italian town with 6,419 inhabitants, located in the province of Foggia in Apulia, on the Gulf of Manfredonia. It is situated along the coast of the Gargano promontory, and due to the quality of its bathing waters, it has been repeatedly awarded the Blue Flag by the Foundation for Environmental Education. |

The patronal feast dedicated to Santa Maria della Luce takes place from September 14th to 16th. The festivities officially begin on the morning of the 14th, with the event announced by fireworks and the ringing of bells. A marching band parades through the streets of the town to mark the start of the celebrations. On the final day, a procession carries the painting of the Madonna and the statues of Saint Anthony and Saint Michael the Archangel through the town’s streets. The festivities conclude late in the evening with a fireworks display. |

Mattinata's economy is primarily based on tourism, but livestock farming and agriculture employ a considerable number of workers, especially during the off-peak tourist season. |
